SW485C

The SW485C is an industrial-grade bidirectional RS-232 to RS-485 or RS-422 converter with a 9-pin form factor. It can convert any standard full-duplex RS-232 port to any balanced two-wire semi-duplex RS-485 port or balanced four-wire full-duplex RS-485 or RS-422 port. In simple terms, it will convert any RS-232 signal to an RS-485 or RS-422 signal and vice versa. The unit is powered from the RS-232 data lines. It also supports automatic data direction routing. Therefore, no external power or flow control is required. The automatic data direction routing enables the RS-485/422 driver when data is present on the RS-232 side, making the device plug-and-play and requiring no software drivers. The SW485C has a female DB9 connector on the RS-232 side and a male DB9 connector or a 5-bit terminal block on the RS-485/422 side.
