Cellular Lora in Sanitation Applications

Cellular Lora in Sanitation Applications

Lora Range Radio technology can be used in various telemetry and monitoring applications. Its biggest advantage is reach, which can reach a distance of 15km and the low power required to perform this transmission. No wonder LORA equipment is widely used to transmit remote units information when energy is limited using long life batteries (8-10 years)

There are several cases where Lora can be employed. We recently performed a sanitation monitoring application inside SP in a mountainous region where the cellular data signal is available only in the summons adjacent to equipment facilities. This would be unfeasible to implement an IoT monitoring solution using only Above-Netmobile and RTUS gateways.

The solution was to create a local lora network between the points, which are distant on an average of 2 km, connected to a Lora Cell Gateway for transmission via 3G link.

All equipment and installations have been sized to the critical environment with land and high protection of outbreaks and lightning, as well as battery backup and the solution is able to indicate real time the failure of electrical systems involved in monitoring.

In addition to reservoir levels, we monitor pressures, bombs, temperature, current and equipment tensions, indicating anomalies and deterioration of operating conditions with automatic procedures activation for the maintenance team.

ABOVE Above-Net is a company with extensive experience in the level of engineering in local or remote industrial networks and is therefore able to customize monitoring and telemetry solutions for any environment where communication conditions are precarious. In conjunction with Bridgemeter , our industrial IoT platform, we drastically reduce customer displacement and maintenance costs from the continuous monitoring of the treatment plant.
