Ring Network for Refrigerated Distribution Center
Ring Network Solutions for Cold Storage Distribution Centers: robust and continuous connectivity to ensure operational efficiency and real-time monitoring.

Challenge
To enable robust data communication between various cold storage warehouses within a large Distribution Center.
Solution
Installation and configuration of industrial switches for the formation of fiber optic and Ethernet ring networks.
A large cold storage distribution center needed to install a robust data network for communication between the various warehouses of a plant in São Paulo. Machines were connected through the network, and critical operational data was transmitted over it; therefore, redundancy was paramount to guarantee the uninterrupted flow of information and data. The project had specific requirements:
- Industrial equipment for installation in environments subject to high temperatures and dust;
- High-performance ring recovery protocol to ensure reliability and uninterrupted communication;
- Ability to provide advanced equipment and configuration services;
- Equipment with Fiber Optic and Ethernet ports.
Based on the requirements, Above-Net specified high-performance industrial switch models with 8 and 16 ports, using both fiber and Ethernet. Fiber was used to connect the redundant ring between the various warehouses, with distances of up to 800m. In each warehouse, the fiber rings connected to another network, also in a ring, but via Ethernet.
The hardware solution and configuration service was provided by Above-Net and fully approved by the end customer, who now has a stable and reliable network, allowing them to focus entirely on their core business.
